Dec 2nd Märta My Dear
Today’ s Guest Blogger: Märta Hansson Malmö, Sweden
My name is Märta and I guess some of you know me as Jenny´s intern but I also have the blog martamydear.blogg.se.
Today I will give you a tip on how to make a gift more personal when you don´t have the time to make it from scratch.
My little sister loves Christmas. When she was little we often found her sitting in her room in summertime listening to Christmas carols and making giftlists and decorations. A while ago she moved in to my house, in an apartment two stairs away from mine. This is her first apartment and the first time that she will have to pay herself for all the expenses that Christmas usually brings. That´s why I wanted to give her a baking start kit and a apron to get her in the right Christmas spirit.
To embroider a name or a funny text to an apron, bed pillow or kitchen towels is a good way of making something more out of a gift.
If your not used to doing this its a good idea to choose a thick fabric to sow on. That way you can remake the whole thing if you are not happy with the result and still avoid holes in the fabric.
There are many ways to do this, you can easily find guidelines on the internet that will tell you exactly how to sow or you can do it yourself with nothing but time and imagination to stop you.
I hope some of you will do this and I especially hope that some of you that say: “no I´m so bad at that kind of stuff” actually will sit down and try this.
Good luck and God Jul as we say in Sweden
