Isabelles wedding – the before part
Me and Erik got hitched last february.
I thought it would be sweet to show you some photos from the wedding since we are in such a family mode for the moment!
Erik proposed in Florida late November 2008 and we decided to get married two months later around the date of us being together 5 years.
We really wanted a good party and since humour is such a big part of our lives we wanted a fun, non strict ceremony with our beloved ones.
And we kept a really low budget – I think we spend about 10 000 kronor (1400 dollares) on everything!
I won’t show you the invitation since it was a movie and I find it a little to personal to post.
This was the note we posted in our elevator cause we got married in our apartment home in Stockholm!
Location: So the ceremony was in the backyard.
Then we cleared the furnitures out of our 3 bedroom – 75 square meter big apartment.
And put renovation paper on all the wooden floors.
Sitting dinner for 38 people in our livingroom.
Dellas room got turned into the disco room with a speakersystem that made the neighbourgs cry.
and our bedroom became a SingStar karaoke room.
It was great!
Decoration:
I didn’t have much time, room and don’t like to waste things. And didn’t want to spend too much eve tough it was my wedding. (For me it’s a sport – making creative, nice things on a tight budget).
I hit the supersales that IKEa has every year. Bought like 600 christmas ornaments for 100 kronor.
The black and white/ red and white stripes set the tone for the decoration.
I made flowers of the ornaments and big pieces to put in the ceiling and on the walls.
Since we made the wedding really small, we just had enough space to seat 38.
But we didn’t have space enough for china, a buffe, hot newlymade food or servants.
So we made everything in small boxes.
Just after the ceremony everyone got vietnameese spring rolls and some snacks.
Then at the appartment we had catered Sushi. I made small things to decorate each box.
When dinner was done – out with the sushibox and in with the dessert box.
Simple as that!
and a surprise for everyone!

When the guests arrived just before the ceremony started,
everyone got a little goodiebag for the evening.
Chewing gum, headachepills, lollipops, mustaches, napkins and kazoos.
It was so much fun geting a good mix for the little bag.
They all played the wedding march on the kazoos!
And the dessert was placed in a box.
Cupcakes and chocolate.
The coffee mugs had photos of our Della!

What a beautiful and creative wedding you had! The simplicity makes it look so intimate and special! I also love your wedding dress, so cute that your dress and your daughters dress matched!
This makes me want to get married.
But Jens and I can´t agree on what last name to choose. =)
What a great story! I loved your decorations especially the flowers made of ornaments! Sounds like you had real fun!
