Alexandra’s kitchen make over

Look what my sister, Alexandra,  did to her kitchen. I posted a few pics on my instagram @jennyfromdosfamily but felt the need to show more.

The kitchen was dark and dull when they moved in. Probably from the 80’s. They wanted (needed) to spend their budget on other things that the house demanded, like a working plumbing system, windows that don’t leak and other crucial things. So they decided to give the kitchen a quick and thrifty makeover because… well that felt more fun compared to all the other heavy renovating things. Using only paint and several hours of her time Alexandra turned this depressing space into a lush and nice place to be.

See before and after pictures below.

Green ceiling and flooring, coral cabinet doors and teal colored walls.

This is how it looked before the make over.

Fruit looks great on painted floor boards

They sanded the floor boards and painted them green.

Radiators and walls inte the same shade for a cohesive look. Also they added shelves to the windows to hold all their nicknacks, art and flowers.

This shelving system is from IKEA. Fits perfectly underneath the windows.

Hibiscus, coffee cups and music, all you really need in the kitchen.

One year after this makeover the painted tiles still looks nice. Has not cracked nor peeled.
Congrats on a job well done!

Wonderful makeover, the kitchen is looking mesmerizing. Loved the choice of colors, especially the cabinets.
