I love the Swedish version of mulled wine, called glögg, and particularly the white version. I usually drink it the traditional way, which is hot with almonds and raisins added, but last year I found a somewhat more glamourous way of drinking the glögg. Pour it cold in a martini glass and serve with plenty of ice and frozen blueberries (or other nice-looking berries) and you have a very stylish Christmas-y drink for your guests. Best thing – it works just as well with the non-alcoholic version, so kids, designated drivers and pregnant friends can have one too!
For a grownup, cool Christmas snack to go with the drinks, serve some gingerbread cookies with blue cheese (obviously no cheese for the pregnant friends though).
