This is an ordinary cork-board. It is not very exciting, but very practical, especially now, during Christmas when you usually get Christmas cards in the mailbox.
So i bought this at a thrift store for only 20 SEK with my mind set on transforming it into something a bit more decorative.

I drew my design on a piece of cardboard. I then placed it on the old billboard, and traced the outlines with a pen.
I then used an exacto knife to cut out the final shape. This particular billboard turned out to have a base of thick cardboard.
I was only after the cork layer, and I didn’t have to cut deep top be able to peel it off.
To make the whole thing more solid, I used the cardboard template I made, and glued it to the back of the cork. And Voila! Simple as 1 2 3 !

If you want to take it one step further, why not try covering it with fabric.

If you look at the clock it seems this took me one and a half hour to finish BUT I did take a one hour long break at halftime with some
Christams fika. (Fika is a Swedish word for the act of actually pausing, from everything, and having a cup of coffee or tea with a snack) .
