Get into that Halloween spirit
Sweden is slowly getting into a kind of Halloween state of mind. When I was a kid we never celebrated it. It’s a kind of last couple of years movement. And the stores are still a bit low on getting totally into it. It’s actually kind of lame, plastic and uninspiring but with every year it get a bit better. But heey who am I to blame? I’m always so darn tired this time of year that all my costume inspiration goes out the window. But if you need some great ideas head over to my old blog – Jenny is a queen of the haunted castle of fun diy and cool Halloween stuff.
I think I’ll go as this vintage oriental Princess Leia has become a fortune teller. I love all these fantastic old photos. Just because they’re old, blurry and black/white makes them even more scary.
Have to make my cat a hat.
And I mean you don’t have to go all in. Just a little effort will do!
If you ever wanted a twin sister – this is where you have a chance! Check our more freaky vintage photos on this Pintrest or this link or even buy cool photos here at Slipbay (thanks for the tip jenny!)
And if you want to make your house extra creepy you can fill it with scary sounds. There is a new app made by some Swedes from Leksand that stores scary music, squeaky floorboards, witch cackles, doors that suddenly snaps and more sound effects stuff – check out the sounds right here and the app is called Halloween Haunted House. It will give your party that something extra!
I’m writing this in the middle of the night and now I don’t know if I’ll be able to go to sleep. OOOOhhhhh

Trevligt höstlov och happy halloween! (Dem där fotografierna alltså! Läskigt vackra!)
Tack detsamma! ja läskigt vackra!
These photos remind me of the book series, “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” by Ransom Riggs. He took a bunch of old photos like these and made a fictional story out of them.
I’ve been holding that book several times but never bought it- maybe now is the time- thank you!
