Imaginary Animal giveaway – Ended

We are very excited to work with artists David & Marie from The museum of Imaginary Animals. When I first saw their hand soaps on Fine Little Day I supposed I got such a cravings I almost fainted so when they later contacted us to become a sponsor we where thrilled!

You two have a fantastic way of meeting – please give us a the story
We met through a mutual friend who encouraged us send mail to each other (we were living hundreds of miles apart at the time). Marie sent David a typewritten letter and David sent Marie a collaged postcard. Later, we met in person for the first time at the same friend’s wedding. Our first collaboration was installing the wedding decorations. It was a great success! For a whole year we sent collages, drawings, postcards and decorated packages back and forth across several states. Finally, we decided to join forces and save postage. Now we share a little studio in and collaborate on all sorts of fun projects.

You started out and are both artists – How do you come up with all the great ideas like making hand soap?

First artists then designers, we enjoy creating products that are intriguing, useful and often humorous. Handsoap began as a sculpture by Marie which incorporated thousands of doll hands cast in soap… Now it’s our most popular product! We are inspired by all sorts of things… Nature, music, movies, hairstyles, mysterious objects, strange stories and experiences, etc. Since we like to make funny products, often something that inspires us also makes us laugh. One idea or experiment usually leads to another… The more we create the more ideas we get!

Are all the things in the shop made by you?
Almost everything in our shop is handmade by us. The only exception is our paper goods, which feature our artwork and photography professionally printed on sustainable sourced paper.

What are your favorite products?
We are especially excited about some new kids tee designs and our Wool Cloud Trivets. Everyone has fun with Old Friends Magnets and we love writing messages on our Short Conversation and Sad Puppy notepads.

And now – The Giveaway it will be open between Monday 14th of January until Thursday 19th of January: One winner will receive a $20 (USD) Gift Certificate to spend at Imaginary Animal.

I just LOVE those hand soaps! They are really cute and come with the added bonus of totally creeping the sh*t out of my boyfriend.

AND I’m quite surprised they ship worldwide, I always get exited with these kinds of shops and then the disappointment of US-only shipping is quite harsh

Woow!
Tjao!

I would choose Grumpy Camel Rubber Stamp. I love different crafts and such stamps. This one is special because me and my friend used to write short stories about two camels. Every day one of us wrote a new story. Our camels always had a lot of adventures and met a lot of friends. We loved them and continue to write them for about a year. This stamp brought the memories back!

Aaawwww. Cute and quirky it is, that shop!
It’s hard to pick a favourite with the baby hands soap waving at me from everywhere. However as a favourite I’d say the triangle cushions are a contender! Thanks for sharing and for the give-away.

Hi there
I like the ‘silly pencils’! Not just the product name is very convincing! The soaps aren’t bad at all either…
Thanx, nic

I have always loved the hand soap! My friends think it’s creepy but I think they’re being unimaginative.
