Collecting coins – A Mosaic DIY

The other day at breakfast I was swearing about a solution about finding a good sparkle protection at the old stove. We don’t cook there anymore but it heats up the whole cottage since we have something called torpargrund (how they built houses 100 years ago).

Then I spotted this jar with really old coins. I think it’s going to be perfect.
Now I simply have to decide how I will make them stick. If I should simply glue them or kind of tile them there (I tried to find the word for putting tiles – how do you say it? When you first glue them and then put the other stuff like when you tile a bathroom?).

What you put between tiles is called grout! :) What a fun idea! Try to find some foreign coins with pretty pictures too…I can imagine how much children will love to look at the coins :)

Awesome!!!! What a great idea. Love it! Check if it´s firesafe! I got a feeling that cupper may lead heat? (Leder kanske värme:) … blir för varmt? )

Wow! What an idea, just wonderful! Thanks a lot, maybe I use this idea for something. We don’t have a fireplace etc. but maybe I could make some other use of it. A jar full of old coins from different countries can be found from our home also. :)

Thanks you all – I think it will be great!

Jessy – thanks- is grout also on the walls or do you say tiling then?

Maria- it’s nice for pretty much anything. Behind the zink or cooking stoev?
Tobias- thank you!
