Today we are going to take a deep dive into my own home. Let´s talk about the color pink. Why we have a stern women in our bathroom. John Waters. A rooster. A golden unicorn. A dead badger. We removed some cabinets in our kitchen to fit this bench. It was so worth it. Sure, we had to get rid of some stuff, but who needs 13 baking pans? Also we painted a big pink shape on the floor and wall. The fabric on the sofa is by Lisa Bengtsson.

Love my little dish-brush-holder. They are called Rosa Ljung, you can find them at fleamarkets all over Sweden.

Viola will be going nowwhere without her unicycle this summer.

Purple table painted by my father, the car painter. Both table and chairs are second hand. The lamp is from Gamla Lampor, Malmö. And if you are in Sweden you can buy the World Map here!

The candle holders are also second hand. Old 70´s wooded ones spray painted in a mix of Montana spray.

I bought this rooster lamp in Nebraska. The chair is from a fleamarket here in Ystad and when I had bought it a girl who follow me on Instagram said she is sure it is her old chair. How outrageous is that?! very.
And the picture on the wall is of Viola and a dead badger.

Not only is this a unicorn it is also golden.

This is Viola´s room.

This is her shelf.

And this is her door and her accordion.

I love women and I love horror. That is why these wicked ladies are in my bedroom. They are the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing I see at night.

And this stern looking women is what I see when I look in the mirror. She keeps me focused.

Let´s talk a little bit more about the people who got all dressed up and went to the Sci Fi world meet up in Malmö a couple of weeks ago. Viola and I were only there for a few hours and I am sure there were many more showing up later during the meet up.

Many of the people we met had home made costumes, like this girl. She even put a mp3 player in the music box and told us the sad and scary story about her character “Drocell Cainz”

Some guests wore a tail.

Just as we were leaving we saw this kid in the line to the wardrobe. Not only did he check in his winter coat but also his shoes. That is the kind of dedication that impresses me and Viola and we had to ask for a photo. He made the tie and the coat and hat from duct tape. He also had a thermos of coffee with him.

This girl came as Venellope from Wreck It Ralph. Viola wants stickers on her hair all the time now.

We also met some super vixens that clearly had joined the Dark Side. They had ordered some badges from Japan to complete their home made Star Wars costumes.

“We are just from Falkenberg” these wicked women told us.

WHY? I love people who has an obsession. I headed for the annual SciFiWorld in Malmö hoping to find some of them, to take their picture and be inspired by their “let´s go all out” attitude.
WHAT? The annual SciFiWorld is a meeting place for scifi-folks and gamers and regular movie buffs.
HOW? With the Bear packed in my bag and a autograph note book in Viola´s we drove to Malmö for the SciFiWorld meet up. We hoped for lots of inspiration, some good photo opportunities and a few autographs.

I could not fit everything into these two parts, so there will be a Part 3 later this week.

What a weekend it has been for the DosFamily bear. We went to SciFiWorld in Malmö and met all kinds of goofballs. I will tell you more about it soon. But first: take the kids to school. Have some coffee and watch the latest Days Of Our Lives.

We are all ready for some spring right? So today I´ll take you to visit Klara Ripa´s old apartment. Klara Ripa is the creative and fun spirit behind the blog Pippivogel.  I photographed the apartment in the month of May when the cherry blossom bloomed in the back yard. Since this shoot Klara´s life has changed quite a lot and the family has moved, but on that day it looked like this. Above: Elise in the kitchen flooded with sun light. I am crazy about that radiator painted yellow.

Elise is such a doll, she made us loooooonnng straws and set the table for our coffee break.

I was so damn tired of gray, dirty hard snow in the city but then I went to Åre for work and I changed my mind… Just being in the mountains and feeling like a skibum completely changed my mind. Ok. I still crave some warm sun and I’m over it already but still. If you gonna have any chance of surviving winter you simply have to go all in! I even did a snow angel almost naked in the snow!

Erik also went all in to nature. Exposing all kinds of body parts for the greater need. Just like the dog he is.

Sometimes it was hard knowing if I was going up the hill or down.

I’m happy we found some time to hit the slopes. Work hard – play hard.

Now this week – I have sports vacation – right now with sick kids in our cabin. I’ll be back soon!

This is Emilia. A really cool person that Isabelle and I have met trough the wonderful world of Internet. She invited us for some fika (visiting over coffee) at her home. I brought my camera , like I always do, and took some pictures of things that caught my eye.  Today I am going to show some of those pictures. But first, let me explain something…

People often ask me: “Jenny what do you do?”
This is my answer: I am a photographer and I am crazy about how people live. Lucky for me I get to photograph homes for interior magazines.  I have loved home decor since I was a small child. Back then I had never even seen a decor magazine so I got my kicks from the IKEA catalog and from the homes I saw on TV. I even made blue prints of some of those homes. Like the Simpson´s home and the Huxtables house. The home of “Full House” was my favorite. I wanted both DJ Tanner´s room and her hair ( see me trying here!)

Home decor has infected my brain and I love visiting people to see how they live. Becoming a interior photographer gave me the perfect cover.
With that title I can ask people who I find interesting if I can come over to their home. (As I did when I saw Toby in a store). People let their guard down and answer my questions about this and that. They accept my snooping around as a part of my job.

Now let´s get back to Emilia´s home…

This looks exciting. But it´s in German so I don´t understand it.

That flower jacket is a joy

Another fine thing about visiting is the fika of course. “Fika” is such a great Swedish word. And is to be used like this. “Hey let´s go to my house for a fika” It is like a snack and a chat. For grownups it is usually coffee or tea with something sweet or a sandwich. For kids it could be juice and biscuits. Eating something “small” together and catching up at the same time.

This is the second part of touring my dads vacation house. Next to their house is this old Dairy. Their dream is to fix it up, gentle and to open a café. Let’s cross our fingers.

Well he doesn’t live in this shed but this is at his country place just outside Örebro in Sweden. He also has a lovely lady- Lollo and a dog but I guess I’m too much of a daddy’s girl so I kind of forgot to take their picture. They have been here for about 3 years. My dad is a real Skrotnisse as we would call him in Swedish . He collects stuff and can make anything out of everything. Everywhere I look there is history in the things. He is cool my dad.

Let’s start inside. My dad had this idea of a copper wall. He looked everywhere. It was really expensive. Then he got hold of these copper sheets that used to be a floor for one of the plays at the theater Dramaten in Stockholm. He told me he tired to hasten to erosion proces of the copper by peeing on it but it didin’t really work. And No the pee’d on parts are not on the wall.

I think to copper makes a really cool detail and it goes well with the green painted floor.

I love that everywhere I look there is something he made out of old things. Patina is his middle name. The pile of wood is stuck between copper and an old rusty pipe. And the old shovel – isn’t it a gorgeous candle holder?

Where the house is there are lots of wild deer around. So he collects them. Well I’m a city girl but looking closer, doesn’t this particular deer look very much as a Bambi?

If I remember correctly I actually found this somewhere but didn’t have a place for it and then gave it to dad. That how I do it. When I don’t want to get rid of things I give it to dad. Then he makes beauty.

Thats my old desk lamp… and I remember that old net to keep the flies away. How beautiful I thought it was when I was a little girl. How I would trace the shiny flowers with my small fingers. It was so soft.

I think his friends does the same with dad. One of them remade his kitchen. It wasn’t very old but they wanted something new. So dad went there and took the parts but didn’t like the oak. So he simply put some color on it to match his patina.

Just great small details everywhere.

The lamp is an old mine found in the sea. The little one on the left is my pirate.

The round ball – is an old lamp – globe from Kungsträdgården in Stockholm, a park near the castle. They where changing all of them while they where still in perfect shape so I asked if I could take some with me? They had a whole lorry full of balls. I almost cried. Wanted to make a wall like in Lenny Krawitz old home in Miami. But I lived in Belgium at the time and didn’t know what to do with them. But dad knew. He simply made new lamps.

No I’m not that old. I didn’t use this Bugaboo vintage edition. But we had the stone lamp at home when I was a kid. It was very intriguing then. A. STONE. LAMP. WOW. I did though buy the frames at a flea market. Now it seems that I want to take credit for everything. But it’s not like that at all. I just want to make a point that he makes wonders of things I couldn’t or wouldn’t.

I think he bought these ones in Istanbul back in the days. I never liked them. Think I even got a blue eye from one when I was little. But they are somehow so much dad.

They found Jesus in Amsterdam. My Jesus is laying there in bed working on his speech for his brothers wedding.

The voodoo doll is supposed to look like me. I was a difficult child and dad needed all the tricks in the book for keeping me on leash.

Looks like a scary ghost room. But it’s actually lovely!

Look – one of those balls from Kungsträdgården again – he made yet another lamp.

Look at the table. One of the sheds on the land used to be the laundry. The foot of the table is the old laundry cooker and the top used to be a manhole.

Look how smart it is with the old door so the neighbors can’t see into the sauna?!

I got an email from Emilia. She said: “Jenny! I think you should visit my friends. They have the nicest kitchen and  no wall between the bedroom and bathroom! And as if that is not enough, they also have a really sweet laundry bin”

How could I refuse? I went there and met such an adorable family: Sara is a nurse and Kristian is a woodshop teacher and they live in an apartment in Malmö with their kids Vira and Frank . The home has a white base with a touch of pink pastels and black. Also stuffed birds and lots of fun family photos everywhere. I´ve featured their bedroom before. See it here!
