In our village there is really just one place to go for the opportunity to meet new people while getting a cup of coffee.
And that is the village church, twice a week you can take your kids there to play while you can enjoy a cup of coffee.
And that is where I first met Sophie and Patric. The couple that people around here knew as “Stockholmarna” (=people from Sweden´s capitol city Stockholm).
We started talking and instead of being just neighbors we became friends.

With an apartment in Stockholm they started looking for a summer house in the south part of Sweden. And ended up buying a 300 year old run -down house with dirt floor that was far from livable. For the following years they worked on it during vacations and in-between jobs.
And when they had baby Iris they decided to skip the city for a while and live in the summerhouse full time.

While Isabelle is at home, feeling a bit down, waiting for her baby to arrive (4 days late, as I write this) I thought I would treat her, and the rest of you course, with a little Dos Visit.
Since it is Christmas and everybody is so busy I have not been visiting a lot of homes lately. But I promise to be back with more next year.

Anyway: My sweet intern hooked me up with her sister´s merry home last week, for a small Christmas-visit. I hope it will put you in the mood for Christmas.

I can not believe how many great-looking homes I have discovered through blogs.  This is another one. Kristin runs the blog Krickelin and she lives in this 2-floor house from the 70s with her handsome family.

Krickelin and DoreDoris are friends and live close to each other. I bet they go to a lot of fleamarkets together and I bet they have fun.

When I found the Swedish blog DoreDoris I knew I wanted to pay this lady a visit. Doredoris, who’s real name is Carolina, has an excellent eye for vintage and you can tell this by reading her blog, but what I did not know was that her partner, Henrik, also has that “great eye”. They have planed and decorated this house together and it looks great. So much color and fun vintage stuff. And only a five-minute bike ride away from the sea.

Kajsa emailed me a while back and told me that she was so surprised to find so many of her friends on my blog. Not only does she know Julia and Anna, she also knows my sister Alexandra. Neither one of those 3 girls knows each other but Kajsa knows them all.
It is so funny how the internet brings us all together. Any way when I then saw Kajsas blog I asked if i could come visit her to. And I could.

She lives in a one-bedroom-apartment in Malmö with her husband Samuel, also known as Harmonica Sam. He plays the blues and has lots of pomade in his hair.

The couple loves American vintage, music and each other.

I asked the very talented illustrator Sara ,with the blog HappySilly, if I could come over for a visit. She told me that they had many plans for the apartment and had only just started the renovations but I was welcome to stop by. The home was just as loving and sweet as I had thought. Sara made me Nyponsoppa and Tea. We talked about motherhood and had such a nice time.

This visit was very close to home, my own home in fact.

I live here with Jens, who works as an illustrator and our 4-year old daughter: Viola. We moved from an apartment in Malmö into this house 3 years ago. And all of the rooms have transformed since then.

On the first floor you will see our pink kitchen and two white rooms. One of them is my office, I spend a lot of time in there by the green table, with my computer.

The other room is our so called TV-room.

When we moved here the upstairs only had one small room and one fairly big attic. Now it is remodeled into 3 small bedrooms, a hallway and a-soon-to-be-bathroom.

One bedroom for us, one for Viola and an office for Jens.

I went to Copenhagen to visit Dennis and Mette´s home this week. The married couple is expecting a baby in a couple of weeks and they were kind enough to let me come over to visit their nest.
It is a small apartment located at Amager, a bike ride away from the city. This place has been their home for 3 years and it has so much personality. The kitchen is filled with fun stuff, like a wall full of photos and homemade stickers on all the cabinets.
The bedroom holds all of the clothes, a TV, play station and now also a crib, ready for the baby. Dennis works as an librarian and has lots of books, vinyl records and clothes. Mette is studying rhetoric and runs the lovely blog Ungt Blod. She is a master of creating patterns out of simple shapes like circles and triangles. Don´t miss them, they are all over this slide show.

This week I went to visit this couple and their white and crispy cottage.
Henriette and Peter have worked in the fashion industry for many years and today they are only 1 month away from launching theire own underwear collection “The White Briefs” at the Paris Fashion week.
The couple bought this old farm in 2004 and moved from Stockholm to this small town in Skåne without any doubt in their minds.
To say the least the renovations were heavy and the house needed a lot of work. Henriette managed the building team while Peter was finishing work in Stockholm.
The farm consists of two houses that together forms an U. The plan was to finish the small house first and let tourist rent it during the summer. And that worked out great.
The cottaged has been occupied all summer and the family have been living in the other house. That house is still undergoing renovation, but I am hoping I can come back to visit it soon.

Julia and her three girls live in an apartment in a town by the sea. Their home is so nice and I felt so welcomed there. Julia is a teacher and (as you can tell) she loves to decorate her home with vintage stuff.  Some of you may recognice her home from her blog www.juliasvardag.blogspot.com (julias ordinary day).

Today I went to visit this gorgeous looking couple in a village near by. Later this week you will see more. Don´t they look great? Also another visit later today. Stayed tuned!

I have been to this home before. You might remember. But lots have changed since then. Märtas sister has moved out of the apartment and so has the boyfriend who became an ex.
At first Märta felt quite lonely but then she had a change of heart and changed the apartment to better fit her needs. One of the bedrooms became a studio: a room for crafting and painting.
Märta loves vintage and collects all sort of things.

Today I went to visit a family in a small town near by. And I absolutely loved their house. It was so playful and welcoming. Tomorrow I will post the visit, until then I give you these two pics.

PS: I would love to see a real fight between Batman and Darth Vader as the one taking place on the shelf. Who would win? hmmm I wonder.

So this is the stylish Jansch family. And their summerhouse.
All interiors I have seen by them are amazing. A great mix of vintage, design, kidsstuff, color and lots of personality!
I love it. This houe thay had for 4 years, the bathroom is just remade after an ant invasion.
The rest is an ongoing project although I think it looks great allready.

Later today I will show you a new visit that I have made. This is a sneak peak of the home.

We have been blogging for a while now. It has been a lot of fun. Both me and Isabelle are very busy at the moment but I insure you that the blog is on our mind all the time. The comments make us very happy. And the www.gravatar.com profile picture, that some of you have, looks great.

Sure - the overal impression when you enter someones home is important.
Whats the vibe like? Is allways my first thought or maybe even more the feeling when I get the first impression of a new home I never seen before. But even more than a nice layout I like the litle details that says a lot about the person who lives there…

To get to this house you have to travel trough a small forest. On my way there I saw plenty of dear and other wildlife.
The weather was gorgeous on that day and the only sound I heard came from birds and cows. The people who live in this house are moving out. They have found a new farm, witch they describe as being more quite.

We know, we know. We have been really bad at updating lately. I will not bore you with our excuces, instead I will make it up to you, I am going to post one new home every day of this week. That sound fun, right..

When I was in Nebraska this spring I took my camera to visit the musicians/artists Kristen Bailey and Gerardo Meza, who live in downtown Lincoln. There is so much to tell about this very fascinating couple, but since I am not a writer I don´t want to ruin it for you. Instead I will let my photos do the talking. All of the paintings in the photos are by Gerardo.

I collect homes. This is the first one I want to show you. I took these photos last summer, but I still enjoy them. I might go back and see the again soon, and take some new photos.
