This autumn I am going to do a new TV program for SVT (Swedish National Television) called Fixa Rummet.
I am going to help kids build their dream room and i’ts going to be a blast!
Now we are going to start the casting so if you know any great swedish 7-11 year olds with crazy design ideas -
direct them to this page svt.se/fixarummet!
Some of you properly already saw this at Design Sponge when we guest blogged there, but since I have done so many kids-related posts lately I thought this would fit right in. Later this week I have a new visit for you.
“A Secret Basket”
It is really easy.
Viola´s grandmother made her this basket, she is a very talented and crafty lady, but you could use any basket. Size or shape.
We bought some rope, screws and a pulley at the local hardwear store. Tied the rope to the basket and attached the pulley to a beam in the ceiling of her room.
You can use the same principal on a regular ceiling or outside in a tree. For safety precautions make sure to use small screws that would not be able to hold anything heavy. And tell your kids about the hazards surrounding a rope or even better don´t let them play unattended.
Next time Viola is going to have a friend over she is going to prepare the basket with some snacks. And when her little friend is in the mood for a snack Viola will swing the secret basket down in a blink of an eye.
She can not wait.
We have a new shelf in our house. Once we put up all of our books we realized that some space was still empty. It did not take long until I saw that the hight of the “rooms” were perfect for Barbie.
With some furniture, fabric and an Iphone me and Viola made a cinema-theater, an office and a lounge. The curtains and the flags are my favorite things. I love making miniature things, they are so quick to make compared to real life size.
PS. Notice how Shaggy has taken Barbie to see an episode of Scooby Doo. But the couple did not get to see the end because Viola got so intrigued by the movie she stole the screen from them and crawled “downstairs” and finished it on her own.
Since we are talking toys.. I thought I would show you some of my sister-in-law´s dollhouse furniture.
I photographed them a while back but I still like them. I think I am going to enlarge the kitchen-one and hang it in my kitchen.
I got a package today. From reader Nicole Rieser. And I am loving the content. 3 Big Jim dolls and a lot of accessories. Her husband Mark used to play a lot with them, but they have been stowed away for a long time and the couple felt the Jims would be better off in our house. I don´t now who will play with them the most: Me, Viola or Jens?
Mark and his brother made a lot of the outfits themselves. I am impressed.
Thank you so much!!
