My son loves helping prep the gardens in the spring by playing barefoot in them and mixing up the soil. He also plants with his feet and somehow, his part of the garden always grows so well.

I love Fiskars tools, but haven’t seen anything for the kids there in Lithuania. My little girls love gardening and their favorite job is planting peas in spring. I make hole and they put the pea. Now our peas are blooming so they need some tools to found the other favorite job.

We love to put pillows and blankets on the trampoline, when it gets dark, to lie there and watch the stars.

Whenever we visit some place with big stones and rocks we pick them and bring home. Whenever the kids are feeling crafty we take out paint (either the typical swedish “water paint” or a paint a that lasts) and paint them. We have a quite ugly pond in our garden but with all the beautifully painted stones around it it becomes really nice, plus the kids (and the grown ups ;))really enjoy painting them!

My son just turned a year and a half so we are starting small. We have a container we planted kale in and he loves to go check in it and see the progress. Watching mama water it is pretty fun too.

My daughter (19 mos) and I love working in the garden together! She has her own watering can and I’ve been looking for a great set of kid’s garden tools. We love gently replanting seedlings and watering. She loves discovering new blooms and edibles that have begun to appear (strawberries and peas!). Thank you!

My daughter Aoife and I love to be in the garden, and mess about in the earth, saw seeds, meet insects and other creepy crawlies. Well of course the slugs that graze on my veg patch. They’re overstaying their welcome, honestly. But being outside is our favorite thing, really, hear the birds and wind and all.

These are amazing, my little girl is only 21 months old so our favourite thing to do is spot bees and ants, name the colour of the plant and find the empty snail shell. She helps to water all the plants and chats to them as she goes. I have a feeling she will love the garden more and more as she grows, she would love these tools.

My daughter and I like to get rugged up and lie in the garden, catching some vitamin d rays (its winter where we live). She is not quite 10 months old so of course she also likes to crawl after the dog and play in his water bowl. When she is bigger she will help her daddy with the vegetables and I will eat all their hard work up (gobble).

It wouldn’t be an afternoon in the garden without a serious toad and worm hunt, my son’s two favorite backyard critters!

What I like the most? Just watching how Mats, our 8 year old, takes care of his sun flowers and pumkins. He really needs the fresh air (even the dirt and the mud, see what I mean: http://instagram.com/p/bMZadnoJOG/ ).
And when he starts thinking about the future … he wants to become a farmer, like his grandfather was, and if business will go well … he wants to start with stables and a riding school. Think it’s someting with the genes.

And about Fiskars … I did visit Fiskars years ago with my Antwerp fellow-students Industrial Design. Where’s the time.

First me and my kids love to pick berries in the garden.
Second we like to plant new vegetable seeds, whatch them grow and than finally harvest them. It’s easier to get the kids to eat there own home grown veggies.

Being just over a year old, the little one usually runs around the garden carrying a broom or some tool that won’t kill her, despite an avid interest in the more hazardous tools. The regular sandbox, plastic ones are sooo boooooring. In the true adhd-in-the-making manner she would take a break by eating a bug, a flower petal, some dirt,….
Who knows if these Fiskars toolz are tasty?! :-)

I asked the kids what they like the best to do in our alottment garden (koloniträdgård):
Vilja, 4 y. -To swim.
Rufus, 2 y.- To rake.
What I like the best is the summer mornings when we are having breakfast. Then the kids can go out and play with what ever they want to in the garden. We, the adults, can read the morning paper and have coffee as long as we want. The rest of the year we live in an apartment and then the kids have to wait until we, the adults, are ready to go out and play.

We enjoy our little garden at our little summer house at The little Island Tjörn… Especially to eat our wild strawberries and watch our cress and sweet pea grow that we brought with us from our balcony in Stockholm.

Lets hope for a warm Summer :)

This morning our favorite thing is eating blueberries. Yesterday my boy loved sprinkling orange calendula petals all over my head. My favorite is to watch him eat peas and kale and mint leaves right off the plants.

Every year in the spring, my daughter (she’s 8 years old) and I are going to a garden shop to buy some plants. This year she chose one plant for her, some carnations. Then she has to plant and water it. She is always very enthusiastic at first … but after a few weeks, she forgets to water it, so I do… But this year, her carnations didn’t last long because the snails ate it! The joys of gardening!

My little son is crazy fun and crazy about any kind of tool- garden, workshop, mechanical… He is always ‘stealing’ or borrowing the elderly gardener’s tools to copy what they do outside in the apartment garden. They all get a kick out of the little helper! We’d love a set of mini tools to garden with garden with!

Glad sommar!

Our favourite thing at the moment, is the little pea-garden, kids cant wait till they are big enough so they can eat them straight from the plant!
