JUST LIKE MUSIC: The soundtracks of my life

When I first started to explore music (at that time there was no internet!) I used to do it through my friends recommendations or by going to the store to pick up a record that looked cool, that I would listen to in a “listening corner” and buy if I liked it. That’s the obvious way I guess. I also used to buy movie soundtracks.

I bought soundtracks from movies like Reality bites, The Crow, Empire records and Pretty in Pink. I think all of them are very good movies and the soundtracks are great. I found one of my favorite movies because they namedropped my favorite band on the movie cover. It was Foxfire starring Angelina Jolie, one of her early films. The soundtrack included bands like L7 and The Cramps.

The first soundtrack I ever owned was this Batman Soundtrack made by Prince. (Ok, to be honest, it wasn’t mine; I stole it from my brother. Sorry!)

Here’s a playlist with some tracks that I picked for you (and links to some good movies).  Some are old, some are new. Hope you like it!

This is my favourite soundtrack also! I bought it by mail when I was 12, as there was no record store in my little village. And I don’t know where is it at the moment. My little sister stole it I think! ;)

Älsk på Drive-soundtracket! Gjorde mycket av filmen för min del.
Och älsk på “Min tjej” som man sa när man var liten och såg 100 gånger ungefär.
