24-days of December

countdown

In Sweden a lot of families put together an Advent Calender for their kids in December. The big countdown with 24 wrapped gifts attached to a (usually) hand crafted piece to hang on your wall.

I have been thinking about this idea for a long time: instead of making a traditional calender that is fixed to one place I wanted to make 24 individual pictures of the numbers between 1 and 24, that way you could hide the gifts in different places in your house at night. Your kids could then start off every morning looking for a new number. For example number 5 on the fridge revealing an extra great breakfast or number 13 on a rug reveling a new set of coloring books and markers.                                                                                                                                                                                               I think you understand what I mean.

But then I thought “even better would be to send the numbers all over the world and make it into a blog-tour. ”

So that is what I did. I have invited 24-blog-friends for this tour. With a new guest blogger everyday, their post will be like a gift to you readers.

What their post will be is up to them. I think it will be a mix of family tradition, DIY and Christmas fun stuff.  But I will have to wait and see just like the rest of you.
I will start with number one later today.

“God Jul” as we say here in Sweden.
